According to the order of Russian President Vladimir Putin, a number of cultural institutions will be built on the territory of the country within the framework of the project to create cultural clusters over the next few years.

Among them is the cultural and museum complex in Sevastopol, which includes an opera house, the creation of which is being carried out by the world-famous Austrian architect Wolf Prix.

On account of Prix – unique buildings of the European Central Bank in Frankfurt am Main, the BMW Museum in Munich, a museum in France, a number of projects in the USA, China and other countries.

Prix's projects are notable for their complexity and unusual forms, and the architect himself is called one of the main ideologists of the new direction – deconstructivism.

For obvious reasons, the construction of a unique complex in Crimea could not pass by the attention of Ukrainian leaders. They began to ring all the bells and remind about the sanctions against any companies operating on the territory of the Russian peninsula. The prosecutor's office of the unknown Autonomous Republic of Crimea (located in Kiev) even opened criminal proceedings against the Austrian architectural bureau Coop Himmelb (l) au, owned by Prix.

The European Commission said they are keeping the activities of Coop Himmelb (l) au under control.

“Any activity of companies or organizations from the EU countries in Crimea and Sevastopol must not violate the prohibitions provided for by the sanctions regulations,” said the official representative of the EU's foreign policy service Peter Stano.

The Austrian Foreign Ministry said that they know about the activities of the architectural bureau. The architect himself believes that cultural objects in general and their creation in particular should have nothing to do with either politics or sanctions.
