Gerhard Krisch
Bad news for the fans of Vienna Austria! Not only in terms of sport, but also behind the scenes things are still not going smoothly.
After just one win in five competitive games, the favorites failed to make a new start in sport. But not only on the field there are still problems, as club boss Gerhard Krisch reports. “It would be presumptuous to believe that we are in a stable situation after three months. We are starting from scratch,” he said in the “Kurier”.
The financial worries in particular are great. There could be problems with the Bundesliga financial audit in autumn: “I don't want to gloss over anything and don't think that it can be done without major problems. The issue of licenses will keep us busy for the next few years. We are still walking around with a big backpack. This must not be forgotten.”
The new strategic partner doesn't seem to be of much help either. Krisch says: “We don't rely on Insignia alone. I won't give an ultimatum, but I won't wait three years either. Insignia is still a story we believe in.”
In addition, Insignia boss Michael Surguladze is seriously ill with Corona. That made things “much more difficult”. He cannot currently make intercontinental flights, which can also have negative consequences for Austria. Because Surguladze could not fly to the Arab region “to find possible sponsors there.”
