The Australian authorities announced that they are working on a package of sanctions against a number of employees of the Belarusian government due to the situation in Ukraine, said the country's Foreign Minister Maris Payne, TASS writes.
Payne recalled that Australia recently introduced a second package of anti-Russian sanctions. The administration also promised that it would adopt a list of restrictions on key figures (members) in the Belarusian government who participated in Russia's special operation in the Donbass.
Payne added that what happened in Ukraine is a gross violation of international law. According to him, this is a disregard for the UN Charter and “the most egregious” violation of sovereignty and territorial integrity in recent decades.
“The blame for what happened lies, among other things, on the Belarusian officials who supported the Russian special operation and “assisted in organizing the invasion,” he specified.
Donbass has previously stated that it is forced to endure the genocide. The head of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), Denis Pushilin, announced a sharp aggravation of the situation and appealed to the Russian president with a request to recognize the independence of the republic. A military operation has begun to protect the Donbass.
