Australia approves Pfizer COVID vaccine for children 5-8 years old

2.3 million Australian children will be vaccinated on January 10th.

In Australia on Sunday, December 5, they approved the vaccination of children from 5 to 11 years old with the COVID-19 vaccine developed by the American pharmaceutical company Pfizer in cooperation with its German partner BioNTech.

Almost 93% of Australians over 16 years old received the first dose from coronavirus, and 88% of the population is considered fully vaccinated. In October, the country also approved additional doses, which are recommended to receive six months after full vaccination.
