Australia announces sanctions against 33 Russian businessmen

Following Britain and the US , the Australian government imposed new sanctions against 33 Russian oligarchs, well-known businessmen and their relatives. This was reported by Bloomberg with reference to Foreign Minister Marys Payne.

The list of sanctioned Russians is similar to the one developed by the G7 countries for the next round of sanctions.

It included, in particular:

  • Roman Abramovich – owner of the Chelsea football club;
  • Alexey Miller – General Director of Gazprom;
  • Dmitry Lebedev;
  • Sergey Chemezov;
  • Nikolay Tokarev;
  • Igor Shuvalo;
  • Kirill Dmitriev and others.
