Law enforcement officials say Crooks did not have any identification documents with him.

Shooter at ex-US President Donald Trump was identified as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks. He was killed by the FBI seconds after he opened fire on the stage where Trump was speaking.

This is reported by DW with reference to the Reuters agency.

As noted, 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks was a member of the Republican Party. He lived in Bethel Park, located about an hour's drive from the shooting scene.

When he was 17 years old, he donated $15 to a project supporting left-wing Democratic politicians. Crooks' father, 53-year-old Matthew Crooks, refrained from making a statement until he spoke with police.

The 20-year-old graduated from Bethel Park High School in 2022 and received a $500 “star scholarship,” according to the Pittsburgh Tribune. In video of the Class of 2022 graduation ceremony cited by The New York Times, Crooks receives his high school diploma to thunderous applause.

Law enforcement officials say Crooks did not have any identification documents with him, so he had to be identified through other methods.

“We're reviewing photographs and trying to test his DNA and get biometric confirmation,” Kevin Rozek, an FBI special agent, said at a media briefing.

Recall that US presidential candidate Donald Trump received an ear injury as a result of shooting.
