Zelensky insists on Ukraine’s right to strike military targets from which previous attacks on Ukraine were carried out.
After a meeting with the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky in Washington, Secretary General NATO Jens Stoltenberg said that our country, in order to protect itself from Russian aggression, has the right to use Western weapons to impress legitimate targets on the territory of the Russian Federation.
European Pravda reports this.
“We must remember that this is a war of aggression against Ukraine, and the right to self-defense also includes the right to strike military targets on Russian territory,” Stoltenberg emphasized.
President Zelensky then stated that Ukraine’s Western partners should lift any territorial restrictions on the use of long-range weapons.
“We need there to be no restrictions at all [on strikes on Russian territory] if we know where they are hitting us from,” he explained.
Zelensky insists on Ukraine’s right to strike military targets from which attacks on Ukraine were previously carried out.
“If they're attacking us, hitting our hospital, then I have a crazy question – why can't we hit back,” he explained.
The Ukrainian leader noted that during yesterday’s meeting with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, good signals were received in this regard.
“We are waiting for a decision,” the president said.
Recall that it was previously reported that the Speaker of the United States House of Representatives Mike Johnson supported strikes on military targets on Russian territory with American weapons.
In addition, we previously informed that the White House announced whether it would lift the restriction for the Ukrainian Armed Forces on strikes on Russia with American weapons.
