Attack on the Russian oil refining industry: attacks by Ukrainian drones could lead to a crisis – expert

Already in the Russian Federation a certain increase in the price of fuel on the market and its shortage are being recorded,

Two thirds of Russian oil refineries (refineries) located in the European part of the Russian Federation, that is, within the reach of UAVs of the Ukrainian special services. Successful drone attacks could cause a fuel shortage and rise in price in the aggressor state in just a few months.

This opinion was expressed by the head of the Center for Military Legal Research, Alexander Musienko, in a commentary to Channel 24.

The expert noted that already in Russia there is a certain increase in the price of fuel on the market and its shortage, but the real crisis is still ahead.

“If it continues already existing trend, such purity and scale of attacks, then in principle it takes several months to destroy or significantly damage [Russian oil refineries], to cause extremely significant damage to the Russian oil industry,” the analyst emphasized.

According to him, in the context of the shutdown of Russian refineries, fuel prices will rise, exports will be suspended, so that income from the most profitable Russian industry will begin to fall.

“Accordingly, revenues to the Russian budget, which are used for the war, will decrease significantly. But this takes time,” Musienko emphasized.

Recall that on the night of March 17, the SBU, together with the Special Operations Forces and the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, worked with drones on another Russian oil refinery – in Slavyansk-on-Kuban. Earlier, the Security Service of Ukraine called the drone attack on three Rosneft oil refineries, which took place on the night of March 16, effective.
