Key points

  • The Ukrainian Armed Forces carried out an attack on a Russian plant producing parts for the Shaheds in the Moscow region, using a certain type of drone.
  • The attack stopped the technological cycle at the plant, and managed to hit the batteries and control systems, despite the difficulties of penetrating the region through Russian air defense systems.

The General Staff has officially confirmed the defeat of the Russian enterprise producing combat parts for the “Shakhed” in the Moscow region. This was done by the 14th separate regiment of the SBS UAV.

Reserve Colonel of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, pilot-instructor and military expert Roman Svitan told Channel 24 about this, noting that they managed to hit some enemy parts. What is surprising is that they did this with weapons that have difficulty reaching Russian targets.

What the Ukrainian Armed Forces used to hit the plant producing parts for the Shahed missiles

According to the reserve colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the 14th separate regiment of the SBS UAVs are real professionals. It is clear that they hit enemy targets with drones.

They used Lyuty drones to attack this plant, or rather, some parts. These are batteries and control systems, he explained.

Svitan noted that it is very difficult to enter the Moscow region with drones, especially in the Moscow suburbs. However, the regiment had a certain cover and reconnoitred the location of Russian air defense systems. Thanks to this, it was possible to stop the technological cycle at the occupiers' plant.

Let us recall that on the night of July 5, special operations forces units struck the Russian airfield “Borisoglebsk” – the base of enemy Su-34, Su-35S and Su-30SM aircraft. A warehouse with guided aerial bombs, a combat training aircraft and, probably, other aircraft were hit.
