Today at midnight, the figure was 762.1 millimeters of mercury, which is higher than the extreme in 1988, which was still considered the highest for this time (761.3 millimeters of mercury). By 12.00, the pressure had broken the second meteorological record in October 2021, “and most likely not the last,” the source said.
“Every day the atmospheric pressure in the center of the anticyclone will increase, which means that the baric dome will continue to increase and will reach its peak on October 6-7,” Tishkovets noted. – In Moscow these days barometer readings will grow to 767 millimeters of mercury, which is 22 units higher than the norm. With such atmospheric pressure, hypertensive patients may feel uncomfortable, but they can count on the sun. “
Earlier, the scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center of the Russian Federation, Roman Vilfand, promised weather anomalies in the European part of Russia. According to him, the air temperature will exceed the norm by four degrees.
Muscovites were also warned about a record “baric mountain” in the coming days.
