The Florence prosecutor's office said that Italian tax police seized real estate and assets worth about 41 million euros from a Russian businessman. The man was under investigation in Ukraine for corruption, fraud and money laundering. The seizure of his assets was carried out at the request of the Ukrainian anti-corruption prosecutor's office.

The prosecutor's office did not give the identity of the Russian businessman, but a source in the court and a separate source from legal circles told the publication that he is Alexey Fedorichev. Several Italian newspapers, including the country's most popular daily, Corriere della Sera, have reported the same name.

According to Italian prosecutors, the businessman reinvested illegally obtained income in Ukraine and, through a trust in Florence, owns a large property complex in the Tuscan capital.
