The construction of a "bridge" began at the Washington Summit. for Ukraine in NATO.

A number of important measures to long-term support Ukraine on the path to its NATO membership send a signal to the president of the aggressor state, Vladimir Putin that Western help will not weaken, and the war unleashed by the Kremlin will end in the defeat of Russia.

National Security Adviser to the President of the United States Jacob Sullivan spoke about this during his speech at the NATO Public Forum in Washington on Thursday, July 11, Interfax-Ukraine reports.

According to him, the events that the allies discussed earlier will be presented at the meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Council. In particular, the new NATO military command in Germany will begin a program to train, equip and develop forces for Ukrainian troops.

In addition, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg intends to appoint a new senior representative to deepen institutional relations between Ukraine and the Alliance and interaction with high-ranking Ukrainian officials.

Sullivan also recalled that the day before, July 10, the Alliance confirmed in its communique its unchanged course towards Ukraine’s entry into NATO, therefore, at the Washington summit, construction of a “bridge” for Ukraine to NATO began.

“The steps I just outlined are the building blocks of this bridge. Together they make it clear: Putin cannot divide us, he cannot wait us out, he cannot weaken us, and that Ukraine, “It’s not Russia that will win this war,” said Sullivan.

Recall that earlier the press secretary of Russian President Putin Dmitry Peskov commented on the NATO summit declaration, which states, that the future of Ukraine lies in the Alliance, and the invitation will be sent when the allies agree and the necessary conditions are met.
