At the Russian-Belarusian military exercises “West-2021” in the Pskov region, for the first time, a night landing of personnel took place, the Russian Defense Ministry told reporters.
The landing at night was carried out at the Strugi Krasnye training ground. More than 600 servicemen and 30 combat vehicles BMD-2K-AU, BMD-4M and armored personnel carriers took part in it. According to the Ministry of Defense, the coordination of actions was carried out using modern navigation systems and night vision devices. According to the legend of the exercises, after the landing of personnel and equipment, the military seized the airfield and destroyed the conditional enemy.
The deployment of servicemen was carried out on two sites from heights of 600 to 4000 meters by Il-76 military transport aircraft. In addition, there was air cover, which was provided by Su-30SM fighters and Mi-8AMTSh and Ka-50 helicopters.
Let us remind you that the exercises “West-2021” are being held at several training grounds in Russia and Belarus and will last until September 16, 2021. About 200 thousand servicemen and more than 700 pieces of equipment take part in them.
As the website kp.ru wrote, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba said that large-scale strategic exercises of Russia and Belarus allegedly carry “very big risks” for Kiev.
