The former heavyweight world champion had no chance against the 44-year-old Brazilian Vitor Belfort.
Former world heavyweight boxing champion Evander Holyfield has made a bitter return to the boxing ring. At the age of 58, the American lost to former mixed martial arts fighter Vitor Belfort on Saturday evening (local time) in Hollywood, Florida, by a technical knockout.
The referee stopped the fight shortly before the end of the first round. Holyfield had no chance against the 44-year-old Brazilian in his first fight since 2011.
The battle on the 20th anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks had also attracted attention because of the hiring of former US President Donald Trump along with his son Donald Trump Jr. as commentators.

Holyfield stepped in at short notice as a replacement for Oscar de la Hoya, who was infected with the corona virus. Because of the old age and the long break of Holyfield, the boxing supervisor in California had refused a permit, so the fight took place in Florida.
