Ratajczyk
Even at the age of 47, Krysztof Ratajczyk still hasn't had enough. The former Bundesliga central defender is now playing in the Lower House of Burgenland.
The former Polish team kicker, who played for Rapid and Austria, but also for Mattersburg, FAC and Wiener Neustadt, will play for the Burgenland club Schützen in the 2nd class north – the seventh performance level in Austria – in the coming season. The tough central defender was most recently active for Berndorf in the 2013/14 season.
However, the football comeback was not crowned with success. The Schützen had to admit defeat 0: 4 in the guest appearance in Zagersdorf last Saturday.
In the 47-year-old, however, the air was only enough for 45 minutes, the Pole had been replaced at half-time when the score was 0: 1 due to his training deficit.
Nevertheless, there was praise from Gerhard Reinprecht, the sports director of the Burgenland: “You just notice immediately that the man is a really good footballer, he doesn't miss a ball and he exudes tremendous calm and security,” he told the “BVZ “.
Ratajczyk will make his second appearance in the Burgenland dress on Sunday against Purbach am See.
