Russian dictator Vladimir Putin met with Chinese President Xi Jinping on the sidelines of the BRICS summit in Kazan. They discussed further deepening cooperation between the countries.
Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin said that Russian-Chinese cooperation in global affairs allegedly acts as one of the main “stabilizing factors” on the world stage.
He said this at a meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping on the sidelines of the BRICS summit.
“Over the past 75 years, Russian-Chinese relations have reached the level of comprehensive partnership and strategic interaction. And we can say with complete confidence that they have become a model of how relations between states should be built in the modern world. Our multifaceted cooperation is equal, mutually beneficial and absolutely non-opportunistic in nature,” the dictator said. RF.
Putin noted that after last year's record in mutual trade, Russia and China, despite the “negative external influence,” maintain the dynamics of economic growth and economic cooperation.
“In January-August, trade turnover, according to our data, increased by 4.5 percent. According to Chinese statistics, there is a slight difference. But overall, the positive trend continues,” Putin said.
According to him, joint projects are being successfully implemented in energy, industry, high technology, transport, agriculture and many other sectors. Thus, a new logistics center has been built in Tatarstan, which is used for cargo transportation between the Russian Federation and China.
Putin noted that Russian-Chinese cooperation in global affairs is “one of the main stabilizing factors on the world stage,” and Moscow and Beijing intend to further increase coordination at all multilateral platforms in order to “ensure global security and a fair world order.”
For his part, PRC President Xi Jinping said that in the context of a “tectonic transformation unseen in a century,” the international situation is undergoing serious changes and upheavals.
“But this cannot shake my conviction in the inviolability of the strategic choice of the two countries in favor of strong mutual support, the inviolability of the deep centuries-old friendship between our countries and the inviolability of China and Russia's sense of duty as great powers,” Jinping said.
Recall that earlier, Deputy Chairman of the Central Military Commission of the People's Republic of China Zhang Yuxia made a statement about deepening cooperation with the Russian army. They say that the countries want to take relations “to the highest level in history.”
