“At least 24”: the Prime Minister of the Netherlands revealed details on the F-16 for Ukraine

Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte shared good news about the transfer of the long-awaited F-16 aircraft to Ukraine. He stated that our state will receive more than two dozen multi-role fighters.

Mark Rutte on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference spoke about the stage of the transfer Ukraine receives F-16 aircraft and how many fighters our state can receive.

The process of transferring F-16 fighters to Ukraine is “on schedule”

According to him, progress can be witnessed in this matter.

“We hope to transfer them (F-16 – 24 Channel) as soon as possible… There is progress in these matters. We are, in principle, on schedule. Therefore, this is good news,” Mark Rutte noted.

Relatively the number of aircraft that Ukraine can count on, the head of the Dutch government noted that there will be “at least 24”.

There will be 24 fighters, perhaps more, but not less… We work together with the Danes and others,” the Prime Minister of the Netherlands emphasized.

When Ukraine will have F-16s: forecast by Budanov and the Ministry of Defense

Recently, on February 14, another meeting took place in the Ramstein format, during which Ukraine’s partners reported on progress in the preparation of Ukrainian pilots and the transfer of Western fighters to it.

Following the meeting, Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov stated that “everything is going according to schedule within the framework of all agreements with partners.”

Head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense Kirill Budanov noted that the decision to transfer the F-16 to Ukraine had already been made quite a long time ago. Budanov expressed hope that F-16 aircraft could appear in Ukraine in the spring of 2024. It is known that our pilots are completing training on these Western fighters.
