The Russians at the International Space Station (ISS) were left without New Year's gifts from their relatives because of the delay in the departure of the Progress MS-16 cargo vehicle. The RIA Novosti news agency was told about this by the crew's psychological support service.
The gifts were supposed to be sent to the station on December 11, but the launch was postponed to February 15. Despite this, space on the truck for gifts, drawings and surprises from families remains reserved.
At the same time, the astronauts will be able to congratulate their colleagues on New Year's Eve, since they have brought souvenirs with them in advance.
Earlier, the cosmonauts wished the inhabitants of the Earth a Happy New Year. Sergey Ryzhikov and Sergey Kud-Sverchkov wished Russians and citizens of other countries to take care of themselves and be more attentive to each other. They stressed that the most important thing now is to be together, because together you can overcome everything.
Russian cosmonauts Sergei Ryzhikov and Sergei Kud-Sverchkov, American astronauts Kathleen Rubins, Michael Hopkins, Victor Glover and Shannon Walker, and Japanese Soichi Noguchi are currently working on the ISS.
