The Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation decided to block the site of “Team 29”, allegedly due to the fact that it posted materials from a Czech NGO. Team 29 denies this accusation and intends to appeal the decision of the department.

Roskomnadzor on Friday, July 16, demanded that providers block the website of the “Team 29” association in Russia. The decision to block it was made a day earlier by the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation, which, according to Team 29, believes that this site published materials from the Czech NGO Spolecnost Svobody Informace, recognized by the Russian Ministry of Justice as an undesirable organization on July 10 this year.
However, according to Team 29, it does not have materials from this Czech organization on its website. “We do not interact with this organization and do not cooperate, fulfilling the requirements of the current legislation,” the message says. The association intends to appeal against the blocking decision.
Team 29 is an independent group of lawyers and journalists who defend defendants in cases of crimes against state security. Among the clients of Team 29 are journalist Ivan Safronov, accused of high treason, Karina Turcan, former top manager of Inter RAO, convicted of espionage. The association's lawyers represented in court the FBK and other organizations founded by Alexei Navalny, which were recognized in the Russian Federation as “foreign agents”, banned and liquidated as extremist.
