Moscow. May 4th. INTERFAX.RU – Joint crew of specialists of the branch of TSENKI JSC – Yuzhny Space Center and RCC Progress JSC (part of Roscosmos State Corporation) completed the cycle of mechanical assembly of the “package” (1st and 2nd stages) of the launch vehicle Soyuz-2.1b.
The assembly was carried out at the technical complex of the Center for Testing Technical Complexes of the Yuzhny CC, in the assembly and testing building (MIC) of site 31, TsENKI JSC reported on Tuesday.
The launch of the Soyuz-2.1 b carrier rocket with the Fregat upper stage and 36 OneWeb satellites is scheduled for this summer from the Vostok launch complex of the launch pad No. 31 of the Baikonur cosmodrome.
Now the constellation of satellites OneWeb in low Earth orbit has 146 spacecraft, it is planned to launch hundreds of others. LEO OneWeb spacecraft are designed to provide terrestrial consumers with high-speed Internet directly via satellite communications.
