EMERCOM of Russia announced a hackathon with the aim of gathering programmers who will develop an algorithm for analyzing the situation and predicting the average daily increase in the area of a large landscape fire. This intelligent system is designed to reduce the time to extinguish fires through pinpoint assessment and distribution of forces.
It is noted that the Ministry of Emergency Situations will hold a hackathon together with Roshydromet and Rosleskhoz. The current firefighting methods need to be improved, and the intelligent system will be able to monitor the situation, provide information support, instantly respond to the situation and redistribute forces based on the immediate task. This will increase the accuracy and efficiency of firefighting in Russia.
This event is also necessary for programmers: they will be able to demonstrate their skills to large IT companies. The hackathon's prize fund is 400 thousand rubles.
