Marko Arnautovic made his debut for FC Bologna on Sunday evening. In the 4-2 test match win against Pordenone, the ÖFB legionnaire was in the starting line-up and was replaced at break.
Shortly before the break whistle, the 32-year-old had his best action. A shot from “Arnie” landed first on the crossbar, then on the pole. Only millimeters were missing from the debut goal in Italy.
The Italian media were impressed by Arnautovic's first appearance. “Corriere dello Sport” rated it “very good”. The 32-year-old has “integrated well into the game, shown a good mentality”.
The “Gazzetta dello Sport” says: “A promising debut. It took him 20 minutes to get back on track after more than a month without a match.” In addition to the technology, “his willingness to fit into the team and the processes” is also rated positively.
The first competitive game for Arnautovic and FC Bologna will take place on August 16 in the Coppa Italia against the second division side Ternana.
