Armenia will not come to the CSTO meeting for the first time: ISW explained why Yerevan refused

by alex

The Kremlin expressed disappointment that Armenia refused to participate in the CSTO meeting.

The latest statement by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, who for the first time refused to participate in a session of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), means that Yerevan continues to distance itself from Russia.

This is reflected in the construction of the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).

They recalled that on November 14, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan informed the self-proclaimed President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko that he would not participate in the Russian-led meeting of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) in Minsk on November 23.

The Kremlin expressed discomfort about this because, according to Putin's press secretary Dmitry Peskov, “meetings such as the CSTO meeting are a very good occasion for exchanging views and coordinating ideas.”

Earlier, Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Vahan Kostanyan told reporters that his country is not discussing the legal process of leaving the CSTO.

Let us remind you that Pashinyan told Lukashenko that he would not come to Minsk for the CSTO session. How the Kremlin reacted – read HERE.
