Yerevan denied information about possible participation in regional conflicts.
The Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has denied information that appeared in the media about the possible use of the republic’s territory to carry out military actions against neighboring countries.
This was reported by “Novosti-Armenia”
The department emphasized that Armenia’s position remains unchanged: the country’s territory cannot be used by third countries for the purpose of conducting military operations.
“In response to the fictitious media reports, the Republic of Armenia once again confirms its principled position that the territory of the Republic of Armenia cannot be used by third countries to carry out military actions against any of the neighboring states,” said Armenian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ani Badalyan.
Earlier, a number of media outlets speculated about Armenia's possible involvement in the conflicts in the region. Yerevan categorically rejected these rumors.
Let us recall that earlier we wrote that Russia is transferring troops to a base in Gyumri (Armenia) and preparing for a possible escalation with Azerbaijan. The GUR considers this part of the Kremlin's strategy to destabilize the Caucasus.
In addition, after the death of Azerbaijanis during detentions in Yekaterinburg, raids against Russians began in Azerbaijan. Zelensky expressed condolences to Aliyev over the Kremlin's actions.
