Argentine authorities have registered the Russian Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine on December 23. Prior to this, the country's government signed an agreement for the supply of ten million doses of the Russian drug. Alberto Fernandez said that he will be the first to be vaccinated with the Russian vaccine and does not doubt the quality of the drug.

President Vladimir Putin announced the registration of Sputnik V on 11 August. The development of the Gamaleya Center became the world's first registered vaccine against COVID-19. At the moment, Russia has also registered the EpiVacCorona coronavirus vaccine from the Vector center. In addition, a third drug is under development; the Chumakov Center is working on it.
