Arab media spread information that citizens of Ukraine seem to be fighting in the IDF.
Speaker of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Oleg Nikolenko denies the participation of Ukrainian citizens in the fighting in the Gaza Strip. Earlier, Arab media disseminated information about Russian-speaking Israeli Defense Forces soldiers, calling them Ukrainians.
Nikolenko published a refutation of this information on the social network X, adding to his message fake news from the Qatari TV channel Al Araby.
According to him, Ukraine did not send its military either to the Gaza Strip or to any other region of the world.
“The Ukrainian army protects its territory from the Russian aggression. Perhaps Al Araby TV is talking about Israeli citizens of Ukrainian or Slavic origin, but they have nothing to do with the Ukrainian state,” explained Oleg Nikolenko.
At the same time, the diplomat emphasized that Ukraine hopes for a quick peace in the Middle East.
The Al Araby TV channel video attached to the message talks about supposedly Ukrainians in the ranks of the IDF, proof of which Qatari TV crews for some reason believe that Israeli army soldiers communicate in Russian.
Recall that at the final press conference, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said that he was planning a trip to the Middle East immediately after the Hamas attack on Israel.
