September 2021 threatens to become the coldest in the XXI century in the European part of Russia, said the head of the forecast center “Meteo” Alexander Shuvalov. According to him, climatic deviations are associated with the polar vortex, which has shifted to the Eastern Hemisphere, where Siberia and European Russia are located.
“It will be cold for the next four to five days. The cold from the Arctic has penetrated very far. The frontal zone now runs south of the Black Sea and in the south of Kazakhstan, ”the forecaster cites Izvestia.
Despite the chilly anomalies, forecasters say that the global warming trend continues. Over the past three decades in Russia, the average annual temperature has risen by one and a half degrees.
Earlier, meteorologists told when residents of the European part of Russia should expect a slight warming. Experts assure that if the Indian summer will be, it will not be this week.
