Apple will install the display cutout on other computers as well. Reported by the publication PatentlyApple.
Media reporters found a patent application on the Internet to register a new design for Apple computers. In particular, in addition to the MacBook Pro, the “monobrow” should appear on the iMac desktop computer screen. In the published images, it is noticeable that the notch is located at the top of the display in the center.
Experts noticed that the patent was filed back in March 2020 – thus, the American corporation has long been planning a visual upgrade of their devices. The authors could not name the time frame in which the company will release new devices with a cutout.
The document also says that the screen cutout is intended, among other things, to highlight the block responsible for biometric authentication. Thus, future Apple computers – both laptops and all-in-ones – should receive a face unlock system. A similar system is present in the iPhone, while unlocking in modern Mac computers is done by entering a password or scanning a fingerprint.
Earlier, insiders revealed that Apple will release a powerful new computer with an M1 Pro Max processor and a square Power Mac-style case. The last device was presented by an American company in 2000.
