Apple also introduced the AirTag, a tracker tag for finding items, which should be an add-on to the existing Locator or Apple Find My iPhone app. By attaching the tracker to an item, you can track its location by synchronizing the tag with your smartphone. An Apple spokesman emphasized that the tag was not created to track people. The tag will also go on sale on April 30 and will retail for $ 29. Whether the device will be available in Russia and its cost has not yet been announced.
In Russia, the Zelenograd ISBC group of companies, which specializes in RFID technologies, secure access systems and smart cards, previously used the AirTag brand. Apple bought the rights to this brand in October 2019, the amount of the deal was not disclosed. ISBC itself launched in mid-April, together with Mastercard and eight Russian banks, contactless payment key fobs under the ISBC Pay brand.
Apple also introduced a new computer model – iMac, several models of keyboards and other accessories to it. iMac is now thinner and more compact. Display – 4.5K Retina 24 inches, resolution – 11.3 million pixels, camera – FullHD. The cooling system has been updated – the device is equipped with two small fans that cannot be heard by the human ear. The power of the processor and sound system has been increased. The device can instantly and easily sync with the iPhone. You can now connect an Ethernet cable to the power adapter. The pre-order of the device in the US should start at the end of April, the cost will be $ 1499 for the older iMac model and $ 1299 for the younger one. The price and timing of the appearance of devices in Russia have not yet been announced.
