Apple is working on a smartphone with no physical ports. This is reported by the publication Appleosophy.
According to sources, the engineers of the American company are developing new methods of synchronizing the iPhone with the computer. This indirectly indicates that in the future, the corporation may release a smartphone without any holes.
The report says that experts are working on an Internet Recovery tool. It allows you to connect your smartphone to your computer via an Internet connection. To download data to the device after purchase or to reset and re-configure the iPhone, the user must select the Internet Recovery item, after which the smartphone will find a suitable computer located in the same network. For a Mac, the device will be added to the Finder; for a PC, iTunes. Then the recovery procedure will begin.
Insiders noticed that Apple had previously tried to create a similar Bluetooth-based tool. However, in the course of tests, it turned out that the wireless protocol does not provide the required level of security, and the data transfer rate is low. The report says that Apple is still far from developing a prototype device without ports, so the release of such an iPhone is unlikely to take place until the end of the year.
The American company has added support for the MagSafe wireless charging standard in the iPhone 12 series smartphones introduced in the fall. However, as before, owners of devices can charge their smartphones over the wire, through the Lightning connector.
Earlier, PhoneArena journalists predicted the main trends in the production of smartphones in 2021. According to experts, in the coming months, phones that do not have physical connectors may come out under large brands.
