Apple plans to produce 30 percent more iPhones in the first half of the year

According to a media report, the US technology group Apple plans to increase the production of iPhones by almost 30 percent in the first half of 2021. The plan is to manufacture up to 96 million devices, “Nikkei” reported, citing people familiar with the matter. These include the latest iPhone 12 model series as well as the older iPhone 11 and the iPhone SE.

However, delivery bottlenecks could thwart Apple's plans when the production volume is reached. According to “Nikkei” the company from Silicon Valley plans to produce up to 230 million iPhones in the coming year. It does not appear from the report exactly how many there are this year. Apple was initially unavailable for comment.
