Apple introduced iOS 15 at WWDC-2021. An online broadcast of the event is available on the company's website.
The company has redesigned its FaceTime video calling app with surround sound functionality. The program has a built-in noise reduction system that dampens external noises, as well as support for SharePlay for sharing movies or listening to music. The Messages app will have the ability to send multiple photos as an album and integrate with other iOS apps like Apple Music and Apple News.
The new operating system for Apple smartphones has received a noticeable redesign. IOS added an updated lock screen and redesigned notifications – users will be able to receive messages from apps based on their status. The new “Focus” function makes it possible to customize the type of notifications that will be sent to the user: for example, at work, only notifications from work applications will come. The user can manually select in which scenario which notifications should be muted, but the system itself can change the “Focus” mode depending on the user's actions and the time of day.
At last year's WWDC, which took place on June 22 and was held online for the first time in history, Apple announced iOS 14. The OS received widgets, picture-in-picture support, a built-in translator with support for voice input, and redesigned call animations.
