Apple is once again caught up in a corporate scandal. This time we are talking about the prohibition of Cupertinians from discussing salary-related issues in the corporate messenger Slack.
To be more precise, Apple has banned employees from creating a channel in the messenger, which would discuss the difference in monetary rewards for men and women, writes The Verge.
As a formal reason for such a ban, Yabloko called the fact that the channels in Slack “are designed to conduct Apple's business and should promote the work, results or mission of departments and teams.”
At the same time, the company's employees have already stated that the corporate Slack has channels “fun-dogs”, “gaming” and “dad-jokes”, which clearly violate the same internal rule of the corporation. But nobody blocks them.
