Apple gadgets presented at the fall presentation turned out to be more expensive than expected. This is reported by the Hi-Tech Mail.ru edition.
The journalists of the publication studied the prices for Apple Watch 6, Apple Watch SE, iPad 8 and iPad Air 4 and came to the conclusion that Apple's pricing policy in Russia has changed. According to experts, the American company has adapted to the new ruble exchange rate, and the equipment has become more expensive in the Russian national currency at the same prices in dollars. For example, iPads released in 2019 and 2020 cost $ 329 in the US, while in our market tablets were priced at 28 and 30 thousand rubles, respectively.
The report says that on average, prices for Apple products have increased by 10 percent. The ruble has depreciated by about the same amount against foreign currencies – the dollar and the euro. In this regard, experts predicted an increase in the cost of iPhone 12 smartphones.
Currency fluctuations, which indirectly affected the pricing of Apple devices, have been noticed since March. Despite the increase in the cost of new devices, the American company did not begin to adjust the prices of gadgets released before September 2020.
Apple held its annual presentation on September 15th. The company introduced a new generation of smart watches Apple Watch and two tablets – iPad 8 and iPad Air 4. For the first time since 2010, at the autumn presentation, they did not show new iPhones, the announcement of which is expected later.
