Apple has ceased production of the smallest iPhone 12. Reported by TrendForce.
According to a report from a Taiwanese research company, the American IT giant has completely stopped production of the iPhone 12 mini. The refusal from the budget flagship is associated with its low market demand. Analysts said the failed 12 mini's production cycle came to an early end in the second quarter of the year.
Apple remained disappointed with the available model, but nevertheless in 2021 the company will introduce a successor – iPhone 13 mini or iPhone 12s mini. Despite the funeral of the device, the 5.4-inch smartphone is still available from Apple's online store and from retailers. Most likely, in the coming months, all stocks of devices that have been shipped to the market will be sold out.
Introduced in October, the iPhone 12 mini received a 5.4-inch OLED display, an Apple A14 Bionic chip, 5G support, a dual camera with 12 megapixel lenses, and support for MagSafe fast wireless charging. The cost of a smartphone in the US was $ 699, in Russia the model is available for at least 70 thousand rubles.
In March, sources reported that Apple had cut production of all smartphones in the first half of the year. The cheapest smartphone of the current series, the iPhone 12 mini, will suffer the most from the reduction.
