Apple branded browser has learned to hide users from surveillance

by alex

Apple today unveiled new privacy features for its ecosystem at its WWDC 2021 presentation. They touched on the Safari browser and the Mail application.

Apple has added a privacy feature to Mail that hides your IP address and prevents senders from seeing when you opened an email, or if you opened it at all. The same IP hiding option is now available in Safari.

In addition, Apple has added a new privacy report to Settings. There you can see how applications use sensitive data to which the user has provided access.

Another interesting innovation is that in iOS 15, the voice assistant Siri will be able to answer many requests without an Internet connection. This makes the assistant's work faster and safer. For example, when setting an alarm, Siri does not need to contact the server. The requests recorded by the voice assistant will only be stored locally on the device.
