by alex

Scientists from the University of Birmingham conducted a fresh study. This study studied patients who had recovered from COVID-19 in both mild and severe forms.

As a result, experts have found that after people have suffered this disease, they can develop Guillain-Barré syndrome. This is due to the peculiarity of antibodies to coronavirus. At the same time, a distinctive feature of the syndrome is numbness of the extremities (for example, feet and hands), as well as a vegetative state. The results of the study were published in EurekAlert !, Gazeta.ru reports.

Note that a similar complication was recorded in Russia. So, in January 2021, the Yekaterinburg TV channel “Studio – 41” spoke about Alexei Fominykh.

He: As a patient at a local rehabilitation center, he experienced numbness in his legs and arms a few months after he contracted the coronavirus. At the same time, as experts note, this type of disease is quite rare in our country.
