Belgium has re-introduced tough quarantine amid rising cases of coronavirus infection. This was announced by the Prime Minister of the Kingdom, Alexander De Croo, reports Reuters.
In a European country, all stores will be closed, except for grocery stores and those that have delivery services, school holidays are extended until November 16. The Belgian borders will remain open for now, but travel is not recommended.
In addition, no more than one person is allowed to visit home, no more than four people in the open air, and no more than 15 at funerals.
Belgium has also begun mobilizing all those with medical education – students, retirees and teachers – to fight the coronavirus pandemic. The country has begun sending COVID-19 patients for treatment to neighboring states due to the overload of the healthcare system.
Earlier, the head of the European Council Charles Michel at the end of the EU summit said that hospitals and the health sector in the EU countries are experiencing an overload due to the second wave of COVID-19. In turn, the head of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen urged the EU countries not to rush to remove the current restrictions after the second wave of coronavirus.
