Another Deadly Trend Among Children Is Spreading Online

The practice previously known as huffing or sniffing is gaining popularity again.

More and more users on the Internet support “chroming” – a new dangerous trend gaining popularity among teenagers. It involves inhaling vapors of household products: nail polish, markers or aerosols. The trend is spreading among young people who are looking for affordable alternatives to illegal drugs.

Health writes about this.

As Bruce Ruck, a doctor of pharmacy at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, notes, inhaling chemicals is very dangerous and addictive. According to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, in 2023, about 564,000 adolescents aged 12 to 17 used inhalants, indicating an increase in cases compared to 2022.

Researchers believe this resurgence is partly driven by social media platforms like TikTok, where viral content normalizes chromium, attracting a younger audience. Many teenagers use markers, aerosols or nail polish for chrome plating, and some videos even collect millions of views under the hashtag associated with this action.

Meanwhile, quad bikes have flooded Ukraine. TSN.ua has already told you who these people in animal masks and with tails are.
