Another country will receive the Russian Sputnik V vaccine

Bolivia will become another country to receive the first batch of the Russian Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine. This was reported by TASS with reference to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the South American republic.

“The first batch of Sputnik V vaccine has been sent from Russia in the direction of Buenos Aires and will arrive in our country on Thursday, January 28,” the message says.

On Tuesday, a plane of the Argentine airline Aerolineas Argentinas flew from Buenos Aires (Argentina) to Moscow to bring the third batch of vaccine to the country. According to the Bolivian Foreign Ministry, doses of the drug intended for their country will be brought from Russia on the same plane. “In Buenos Aires, the cargo will be transferred to the plane of the state-owned company Boliviana de Aviacion, which will go to La Paz,” the ministry said.

In December, Bolivian President Luis Arce announced that the country's authorities had signed a contract to supply the country with 5.2 million doses of Sputnik V to vaccinate 2.6 million people.

Earlier it was reported that the Russian vaccine against coronavirus “Sputnik V” will be registered in more than 25 countries in the next couple of weeks.

There are several COVID-19 vaccines in the world. Thus, two vaccines are registered in Russia: Sputnik V and EpiVacCorona. On December 5, Moscow started vaccination against coronavirus with Sputnik V. The US also began inoculating the population with drugs from Pfizer / BioNTech and Moderna. Pfizer and AstraZeneca vaccines have been approved in the UK.
