Australian Foreign Ministry suspended work in Ukraine and urged employees to leave the country

The Australian Department of Foreign Affairs has ordered the suspension of its embassy in Kiev and urged staff to leave the country due to the situation in Ukraine. This is stated in a press release from the Australian Foreign Ministry, the text is coming to RIA Novosti.
“Amid the deteriorating security situation due to the buildup of Russian troops on the border with Ukraine, the Australian government ordered the departure of the Australian Embassy in Kiev and suspended its work,” the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
It is noted that the Australian Embassy will be moved from Kyiv to Lviv.
At the same time, Australian citizens who are on the territory of Ukraine were advised to immediately leave Ukraine by commercial vehicles, since “security conditions may change in the shortest possible time.”
Earlier it became known that Canada suspended the work of its embassy in Ukraine. According to the head of the Foreign Ministry, the embassy will return to work “as soon as the security situation in Ukraine allows.” Consular services to citizens of Canada will be provided by a temporary diplomatic mission in Lviv.
