Bolivian President Luis Arce said that the country received the first batch of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine. His post was posted on Twitter.
He also announced the start of a vaccination campaign against COVID-19 with an arriving drug. According to Arce, 20 thousand doses have arrived in Bolivia, first of all, health workers will receive the vaccine.
Judging by the photo, the politician personally took part in unloading the containers with the vaccine. She was brought from Buenos Aires.
An agreement on the delivery of Sputnik V to Bolivia was reached in December. Then Arce signed an agreement on the supply of 5.2 million doses to the country to vaccinate 2.6 million people.
So far 12 countries have approved the use of the Sputnik V vaccine on their territory. Among them are Belarus, Argentina, Bolivia, Serbia, Algeria, Palestine, Venezuela, Paraguay, Turkmenistan, UAE, Hungary and Pakistan. The vaccine registration process in the European Union and WHO has already been initiated.
