Austrian Federal Chancellor Karl Nehammer said that his country “will not agree to negotiations on accession with Ukraine in current conditions.”

According to the Austrian Chancellor, “Kyiv should not receive privileges that Bosnia and Herzegovina does not have.” Since the latter is also currently negotiating accession to the EU.
He explains that Ukraine and Moldova should be offered the prospect of joining the EU “as a sign of solidarity”, but opposes accelerated procedures.
“In general, Austria adheres to EU policy when it comes to solidarity with Ukraine, without violating neutrality,” he added.
Recall that, according to the survey, Europeans are generally open to the idea of Ukraine joining the EU, despite the costs and risks, but at best are favorable to the prospective expansion of the bloc with the participation of Georgia and the countries of the Western Balkans.< /p>
