The government of Slovakia announced a ban on the import of wheat, corn , rapeseed and sunflower seeds from Ukraine. It will last until the end of the year.
The corresponding statement was made by the Prime Minister of Slovakia Ludovit Odor, quotes Aktuality.
According to him, such a ban will remain in effect until the end year for the same four products.
“We must prevent excessive pressure on the Slovak market in order to remain fair to domestic farmers,” Odor emphasized.

Odor also said that the Slovak government will continue to work intensively with the European Commission and EU member states to find a solution.
The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Rural Development of Slovakia explained that the restrictions were introduced to protect the market, but they do not apply to the transit of Ukrainian goods.
