Soviet and Russian announcer Viktor Balashov died at 97 years of age. He was the first to report on TV about Yuri Gagarin's space flight, hosted the Vremya program and in total worked in the profession for more than half a century.
Since 1944, Viktor Balashov was the announcer of the All-Union Radio, later he got a job at the Moscow television center. “The phrase:“ Moscow says, all the radio stations of the Soviet Union are working ”has been pronounced thousands of times,” the Vesti.Ru website says. The cause of death was not specified.
