Android smartphone users complain of massive crash

by alex

Android smartphone users have complained about a massive malfunction of their devices. This is reported by the Android Police edition.

Complaints from smartphone owners, which began to appear on March 23, were found on forums and Reddit threads. In them, users said that they were faced with more frequent cases of application crashes. Programs close instantly and without warning. Departures are cyclical and are constantly repeated.

Most often, the owners of Samsung smartphones complain about the problem – the Galaxy S20 and S21, Note 20, A50 and A70 lines and models. Also, the owners of Google Pixel, Motorola and OnePlus devices report about breakdowns.

According to journalists, the failure is associated with the built-in Android System Webview service. This add-on allows you to display web pages in applications. Since most programs have this feature, so many applications are affected.

Experts said that the breakdown should be eliminated in the near future. As a temporary measure, users were advised to roll back the Android System Webview settings to the start ones. To do this, you need to go to the “Applications and notifications” section, find the appropriate service in it and click on the “Remove updates” button.

In the summer, iPhone users faced an app-related crash. TikTok, Spotify, Tinder, Viber, Pinterest and other programs and services stopped opening on smartphones. The problem was caused by a bug in the Facebook software development kit (SDK) that many applications use.
