An unusual astronomical phenomenon awaits the inhabitants of the Earth today
During the total eclipse of the Sun, which is expected on December 14, the inhabitants of the Earth will be able to see the “solar corona”, reports TASS, referring to the Moscow Planetarium.
“With a total eclipse, the” solar corona “resembling a ring of fire is visible, as well as stars and planets that are near the sun,” the experts said.
Unfortunately, this phenomenon will not be visible from the territory of Russia. The inhabitants of Argentina and Chile will be able to admire the eclipse of the Sun, in part it will be visible in South America, Antarctica and Africa.
It is expected that a shadow 90 kilometers wide will cover the surface of our planet at 17:32 Moscow time in the central zone of the Pacific Ocean and will last until 20:53. Its end will come west of the coast of Namibia. The YouTube channel and the pages of the Moscow Planetarium on social networks will broadcast the solar eclipse.
