An outbreak of pneumonia of “unknown origin” was recorded in Argentina.
At the end of August A patient came to the hospital with a severe form of pneumonia, but doctors could not establish what caused it. In just four days, five employees of a medical institution with the same symptoms ended up in hospital beds.

As a result of pneumonia of a mysterious origin, two people died, three are still in the hospital. The condition of another patient is satisfactory – he was sent to isolation home.
Doctors say that the first symptoms and form of pneumonia are similar to the consequences of covid infection, but the tests did not confirm the presence of the virus. During additional studies, doctors also tested patients for the presence of various types of influenza, hantavirus (infections carried by rodents) and more than 25 other various diseases. All tests were negative.
Argentine health officials have yet to notice the widespread spread of the disease. Most likely, it is transmitted during physical contact, but transmission through the air cannot yet be ruled out.
