Toxins harmful to the body accumulate in the human intestine during food processing, said oncologist surgeon Ivan Karasev, he told about this in his Instagram account.

According to the specialist, the gastrointestinal tract processes about 100 tons of food and 40 thousand liters of liquid during a person's life. “The average adult body contains three to five kilograms of feces,” he added.

The doctor noted that a cleansing enema is effective only for 25-30 centimeters of the colon. The total length of the lower gastrointestinal tract is one and a half meters. The surgeon warned that the enema can be harmful to the intestinal flora. Karasev named a safe way to cleanse the body: he advises using flaxseed flour.

Eating one to three tablespoons of flaxseed flour a day will rid the intestines of a buildup of parasites, mucus and feces, he added. The doctor explained that this will stabilize weight, improve metabolism and lower cholesterol. He advises mixing flaxseed flour with kefir and taking a 21-day course of cleansing the body no more than once a year. The method is suitable only for those who do not have chronic diseases.

Earlier, dietitian trainer Pavel Terekhov called dill a product for cleansing the body of toxins: the herb removes bile from the body and provides a weakening of the intestines.
