Scientists have predicted that in 2025 will begin a period of “extreme” space weather, due to high solar activity.
Naked Science writes about the work of scientists. Scientists have analyzed archival data on the activity of the Sun and characteristics of the Earth's global magnetic field over the past 150 years. As it turned out, magnetic storms usually occur in the region of the maximum of the solar cycle, the average length of which is 11 years. The analysis also showed that extreme manifestations of space weather are more often observed in the initial phase of solar cycles with an even number and in the final phase of cycles with an odd number.
Scientists say dangerous events can occur from 2025 to 2030. This could affect NASA's Artemis mission.
